Situated at 53 KM from Almora district Kausani is one of the less known, nevertheless equally beautiful hill stations of india. Its original bane is Valna. It is situated at Pignath Peak and offers a breathtaking blew of mighty Himalayas if the weather is clear. It is called the Switzerland of India and rightly so. The white clouds just a few meters above the place look like “Cotton balls” flying in the sky. The beautiful, pristine sceneries of the place attract the visitors. It has many natural gifts and treasures to surprise its visitors. A large variety of our feathered friends beautifully populate the place: measuring the sky with their wings, perching atop the trees, building or mending their beautiful nests, these exotic birds are nearly everywhere to see. The grand and old trees with inhabiting them are not less impressive themselves and there are lots of them towering and belittling each other in their eagerness to get a glimpse of the top most peak of might Himalayas.
The place, situated atop the ridge at an altitude of around 1890 mtr, offers panoramic views of famous Himalayan peaks like Panchkli, Trishul, Nanda Devi, etc. through 300 KM wide stretch of Himalayas. The experience is so unique that the words fall short of expressing the joy that not only instantly descends on the hearts but seeps well into its depth, carving the beautiful image on the mind.
The place is one of the best honeymoon spots with its romantic ambience, quietness, natural scenery, descending clouds and hue changing sky.
